    What to Expect

Your professional tour guide will meet you at Piazza San Marco in front of San Marco Basilica for your tour of the Accademia Gallery.

From there, you will walk 190 meters to the Accademia Gallery, where you will skip the lines and enter one of the most famous museums in Florence to view Michelangelo’s iconic David sculpture.

The museum also hosts important collections of Italian masters dating from the 13th through the 16th centuries which also includes the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini. This less often seen treasure houses a marvelous collection of historical musical instruments which represent life at court for the Grand Dukes of Tuscany including a harpsichord by Bartolomeo Cristofori and an original Stradivarius violin from 1716.

You will have a two-and-a-half-hour break to explore on your own and sample the local food such as gelato, lampredotto, and panini. Ask your expert guide for recommendations.

After your break, your guide will meet you in front of Lindt chocolate store in Piazza del Duomo at the Cathedral where you will learn about the incredible history of Florence walking in the footsteps of the Medici and other historical greats.

The tour finishes at the Ponte Vecchio, the first bridge to cross the Arno and the pulse of Florence. Constructed as you see now, in 1345, you will uncover the mysteries of the Vasari Corridor that stretches across the bridge of gold along with other gems the city has to offer.
