Spend the night in Trapani and wander through its centre where the strong smells and tastes of the Sicilian food are delightful

Day 4The beauty of the Mediterranean

The best way to enjoy the Mediterranean sea is to embark on a boat and explore the unspoilt beaches and coves of the coast or the islands. You have a choice between exploring the Egadi islands in front of Trapani or depart from San Vito Lo Capo; both options will make you discover a paradise where the intense blue of a clear sky combines with the changing colour of a sea with crystal clear waters and the white of blinding sand beaches. Once back in Trapani, finalize the day admiring the sun setting over the saltpans and immerse yourself in a unique scenery because of the contrasts, colours and reflections of the sky

Day 5A land of wines and temples

Sicily has a long-standing wine tradition, travelling south you will reach a family-run winery producing excellent organic wines: white, reds and rosé. Take a tour of the winery followed by wine tasting and continue to Agrigento stopping on the way at the Turkish Staircase, a spectacular stretch of coast made of a blinding white marl. Once in Agrigento, visit the Valley of the Temples where, among hundreds of almond trees, lies the ancient town of Akragas; once one of the most prosperous of the Greek cities on the island, it still enchants its visitors with its beauty

    Day 6 Discovering treasures

Besides the anecdotes and curiosities, you will be told how to read correctly a label in order to choose extra virgin olive oil and how to store it. The next stop is at the Villa Romana del Casale, housing magnificent frescos that alone are worth a trip to Sicily, then reach Ragusa Ibla, a unique architectural phenomenon of the Baroque, a maze of narrow cobbled streets, churches, palaces and monuments, most of which adorned with capitals made of local stone and inlaid by the hands of skilled craftsmen

    Day 7The Baroque Towns

The itinerary through the baroque towns takes you Modica, Scicli and Noto. A visit to a chocolate shop is a must-do in Modica, the famous chocolate was imported by the Spanish and it is still produced according to the Aztecs recipe. Delve into the past and discover how beautiful is Scicli with the enthralling atmosphere of the historical alleyways; a feeling that persists in Noto, known as the Garden of Stone and rightly so

Nestled in the spectacular coast stands Taormina with outstanding views of the sea and the Mount Etna. Visit the Greek Theatre and take one of the alleyways that unfold from the main street to discover unique views, Mediterranean houses perched on the steps and restaurants overlooking the sea
