The Barcelona Taste was founded in December 2009 to introduce curious locals and adventurous tourists alike to the culinary treats nestled within the labyrinth that is Barcelona. After years of exploring, sampling, and delighting in the local secrets, we decided we were ready to share our discoveries with other discerning palates wanting to experience a more authentic Barcelona. We are Barcelona’s first complete gastronomical tour built around the idea that there is no reason to just walk and talk about food when it’s possible to walk, talk, and eat it!
So, welcome! We look forward to tasting our way around Barcelona and Catalonia with you.
At The Barcelona Taste we love food, like…REALLY love food. But we are pretty into beer as well. That’s why we’ve launched our Beer & Tapas Tour. Not a traditional tapas tour, not a typical beer tour, we’ve combined the best of both worlds to share with you!
Did you know that the oldest European beer producing remains were found just outside Barcelona? True story! And in the 6,300 years since then Barcelona has continued to excel at brewing. From well known international brands such as Moritz and Estrella, to our diverse and growing market of independent beer brewers, Barcelona has a lot to offer beer aficionados.
On this 3 hour tour we’ll visit 3 different establishments, each within an easy 10-15 minute max. stroll. These are not the standard breweries you would find on other tours. Our stops are hidden gems of restaurants and brewpubs that make their own beer as well as some truly exceptional tapas and desserts.
A range of beers will be available to choose from (you’ll taste a minimum 6 different beers on the tour), from hoppy IPAs, pale ales and fruited kettle sours, to Belgian-style beers with innovative twists featuring unique ingredients such as bay leaves, orange blossom, honey or cinnamon…and more! We will enjoy a full tapas meal at our second stop, and see how they brew their beers. To end the evening, you’ll taste an exceptional dark beer paired beautifully with a beer-infused dessert at our final destination. The tour ends at 9.30pm which means you will still have time to explore further (we have plenty of recommendations to offer) or to hunker down at the final stop to continue tasting.
If you are a beer lover but also want to taste some of Barcelona’s best food, this is definitely the tour for you!

The great thing about tapas is that there’s always something for everyone. Whether you love meat, fish, vegetables – or all of the above – there’s sure to be a delicious dish to devour. Here’s some samples to whet your appetite…
Central Barcelona is not just about food! There are amazing microbreweries too – and with The Barcelona Taste you get to taste them. These are not the standard breweries you would find on other tours. Our stops are hidden gems of restaurants and brewpubs that make their own beer as well as some truly exceptional tapas and desserts.
After departing from the meeting point, we will skirt past the vibrant central neighbourhood of Raval. We recommend returning to explore further, to enjoy the famous smiling cat sculpture of vast proportions (one of the symbols of the city), and Barcelona’s main hospital between 1400s and 1900s with its resplendent Gothic architecture. When we arrive at our first venue we’ll enjoy some light snacks and of course their delicious brewed-on-site beer!
For our second stop we will be centred in the charming central neighbourhood of Sant Antoni, famed for its gloriously restored, steel-framed, covered market from 1882. After glimpsing the market we’ll settle into our 2nd venue for a full tapas dinner and of course more independent beers!
We will visit our final stop and say our farewells in Poble Sec, Barcelona’s old but buzzy performing arts district. Also famed for its dazzling nightlife offerings, the area is a hotbed of innovative young chefs and some very fine craft beer producers. At our final stop we will try a delicious dark beer, paired with a beer-infused dessert. There are nearly 40 beers on tap here, and a bit of history to take in. It’s a great spot to end the tour – those that want can stay on and continue to sample, and those that are ready to head home will be escorted to a central plaza with Metro, bus and taxi access.
The safety of guests, guides, partners and the public is our primary concern. Because of this, we’ve developed new health and safety guidelines in accordance with WTO and World Travel and Tourism Council guidelines, and in line with Spanish and Catalan government requirements.
