    Taroa Adventures is an ecotourism organizer that specializes in the local heritage of Colombia’s Caribbean. We design unique adventures through hiking, remote islands and more.     Privileged immersion in one of the jewels of Spanish engineering in the new world and its lagoon complex, to live a quiet fluvial odyssey full of the present aquatic birds and fishermen of the Colombian Caribbean Coast.

    Physicality, Travel Style & Cultural Shock

    These are our least demanding trips. These trips involve little activity and are suitable for people with a basic level of fitness and good health. The itinerary takes place in remote areas (with basic facilities); involve various types of transport and unpaved roads. Be prepared for potential variable weather conditions (Rain during May to November).

    Due to the nature of the activities undertaken in this trip, pregnant women, children under 12 years old and minors unaccompanied by their parents or legal guardians are not allowed.

    What to Bring

    • Your personal medication.
    • Reusable Bottle Water. (We provide filtered water to reduce the single-use plastic bottles)
    • Sunscreen (No sweet smell) and a cap.
    • Insect repellent.
    • A day pack for you to carry your personal items.
    • A light rain jacket. Rain (May – Nov).
    • An extra change of clothes in case if it’s needed
    • Cash for souvenirs

    At 6:00 a.m. we drive out of Cartagena towards to the town of Rocha, an Afro-Colombian village where people make a living of fishing and farming, here we take a boat with a local to ride on Dike canal and Surroundings, while we´re riding we can enjoy the natural beauty of the area full of pretty landscapes, birds, water and we have the chance to meet fishermen and see how they work
