We support local businesses, sustainable practices and cultural acceptance, and we believe that it contributes to a better experience.
If it is not the first time in Amsterdam, this experience is definitely the one that can offer you something new and exciting.
The topic of this tour will be multiculturalism and food. Food is the best way to learn and understand a culture, so we have chosen to introduce you to the new settlers, the ‘immigrants’ of Amsterdam through tasting their delicious plates.
Amsterdam is undoubtedly a cultural melting pot, so the Tropen Museum is the perfect start for your private Amsterdam discovery. This museum displays wide-ranging cultures from all over the world and celebrates the diversity that these communities have brought to Amsterdam.
Weather dependent we will carry on to meander around a local market and then to Oosterpark. We will start our tasting with some Surinamese delights and then talk about the historical and cultural background of these people: why and how they have migrated to the Netherlands. Next on our menu is a Syrian food shop that is famous for the best falafel in town. After this we will visit a Moroccan bakery where you can choose a savoury or sweet baked beauty, depending on your taste. To crown our foodie experience we will have a Turkish dessert an absolute must on this side of town. Our tour will conclude here but if you would like to continue your dive into Dutch multiculturalism, ask your local guide for guidance, tips and advises.
