Kay was born and grew up in Berlin, Germany and is now living in Playa del Carmen since 2012. The moment he moved here to live together with his beloved wife and their two sons he fell in love with the Riviera Maya. It is his passion to share it with others. He has worked for some of the biggest tour operators in this area and noticed their concept is not the most satisfying for the guest. That’s why he started Kay Tours Mexico, an independent Personal Tour Company, where our guests tour experience really matters to us.
Sian Ka’an in Mayan means “place where the sky is born”. As you drift down the lagoon looking at the colors of the water and the sky you will understand why!
If you love animals then there really is only one way to get up close to them, and that is by observing them in their natural habitat, and not in captivity. The best place to see dolphins in the Riviera Maya is not in a dolphinarium but in Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve.
Our Sian Ka’an tours are the perfect way to introduce your children to wildlife. Our experienced guides will give them a fun and exciting lesson they will never forget! Expect to see birds, dolphins, sea turtles, and if we are lucky manatees and crocodiles!
Sian Ka’an is a National Park covering 5280 km²/1304714 acres, making it the third largest protected area in Mexico. Established in 1986 the biosphere reserve is as well a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered one of the most beautiful areas of the Yucatan Peninsula. As it is a protected area, swimming with the animals is against the park rules and not allowed. However, we do offer snorkeling on the coral reef if weather conditions allow.
Depending on the time of the year, the road and the boat ride can be bumpy!
This tour is not recommended for anyone with back problems and suited for pregnant women.
