    Within this experience, Nonna and I will show you and keep alive this 400 years old pasta making tradition, for then savoring our delicious results together in our family. Join this unique traditional pasta-making experience with my 83 years young Nonna Amina. Discover my family’s old secret for the best fresh egg homemade pasta in an ancient village in Teramo area of the Abruzzo region.

    What We Will Do


    Within this experience, we want to take you through a journey ‘in time’. This is not a simple pasta making class. We are going to make the traditional pasta of Teramo called ‘Pasta alla Chitarra’ from scratch. Very few people still make it following the tradition with an old wooden tool, called ‘chitarra’. Nowadays, restaurants and housewives prepare this pasta with the pasta machine, but you will experience with your senses that it’s a totally different story: making it completely by hand! Your life will change, when you will learn why it is important to make it by hand, and how to prepare it at home in less than 20 min.


    During the experience I and Nonna, we will show you and keep alive this 400 years old pasta making tradition, for then savoring our delicious results together in our family.


    After collecting the eggs & tomatoes from our little farm, Nonna Amina will share with you all the secrets of making the best tomatoes sauce on Earth. In this way, once back home you can take with you a piece of Abruzzo and impress your friends and loved ones.


    You will also get to taste our own olive oil, vino, honey and other local traditional products. Mamma Mia!


    With the two of us together, You will learn all the secrets of my nonna’s recipes, which were kept within our family for generations. Together we will share a typical day of a family from Abruzzo, Central-Southern Italy.

    *Let us know about your food allergy! Vegetarians are very welcome, and it is available also in gluten free version. Sorry, we can’t accommodate vegans yet. Please take into consideration: My Grandma is 83 years old, so it can happen, that she might not feel good sometimes. She also takes care of our Nonno (Grandpa). In this case, she will still come to supervise and tell me to add more salt for example, but I will take over her class.
