  • Helsinki

Helsinki; the city where things work, and public transportation is no exception. It works flawlessly and ranks among the best, not just in Europe but in the world. Helsinki also has one of the oldest tram systems in the world that dates back to 1891! In the city centre areas, trams are the first choice of the locals when it comes to public transportation.

In this tour, we will visit various parts of this beautiful city that would not have tourist crowds and enjoy it like a local by using the famous tram system. We will explore Helsinki with local transport to get a nice and easy-going authentic experience. We will discover hidden locations that you may not find in standard tour itineraries. Amazing secret parks, beaches, beautiful cafes and pubs, flea markets, great views and needless to say impressive architecture. You will also keep your day ticket for public transportation which is valid for 24 hours. You can select one of the two options below. 1st option includes Southern and Eastern parts of the city centre whereas the 2nd option includes Southern and Western parts.

Highlights

Kaivopuisto

Kaivopuisto is Helsinki’s oldest and best known urban park. It is surrounded by old villas from 19th century and several embassies.

It is possible to have great views of the peninsula, nearby islands and sea from the small hill inside the park.

Sibelius Park

The Sibelius Park was named after Finland’s greatest composer Jean Sibelius on his 80th birthday in 1945.

A favourite destination in the park is the Sibelius Monument designed by Eila Hiltunen which is  a popular attraction in Helsinki.

Vanhakaupunki

Vanhakaupunki, meaning Old Town, is the actual location where Helsinki was originally founded in 1550.

Today it is a significant location not only in cultural history but as well as an environmental haven with surrounding natural reserves.

Please note

Please be prepared to walk 5-6 km.
