    Meet the Founder of Faira Women’s Co-Op for a Chocolate Tasting in Hvar*
    Join Fedra, the founder of the Faria women’s co-op and learn about their remarkable job work in using the ingredients indigenous to the island to create delicacies and cosmetics. Taste her sustainable chocolates that were inspired by her love of locally available produce and grandma’s recipes.

    Majority of the cocoa used in the production of the chocolate is sourced sustainably and certifies to the Fairtrade international standard. All the other ingredients used are seasonal and native of Hvar island.

    Faria Women’s Co-op, the only women’s association on Hvar island, empowers local women to maintain the strong cultural heritage of the island, re-inventing the traditional recipes and know-how of their grandmothers and bringing it back at to the heart of the island life and community. The co-operation also works with young students in mentoring them to use their knowledge and skills in setting up their own business cooperatives.

    Meet the Women of the Tara Center at Plitvice National Park
    Meet the industrious women of the Tara Community Center, who produce handicrafts enabling employment and engagement in the community.

    Through its income the Tara Center has built a small community Center that is used by the Tara Citizens’ Association, a collective of mostly older women, many of whom were refugees. There the women produce handicrafts which have giving them a much-needed financial and psychological boost. The staff educate their visitors about local traditions and share their personal story of the village with great passion from personal knowledge and experience.

    Visit Croatia’s First Women-Owned Co-Op Brewery in Zadar
    Visit Brlog, Croatia’s first women-owned co-op brewery and try a selection of their natural craft beers. Hear the inspiring story of founders Maja Šepetavec and Ana Teskera and how they built their responsible social enterprise. Following their passion Maja and Ana opened the first female-led brewery in Croatia in a male dominated industry. Believing in equality and cooperation their aim is to bring together the best people to make their brewery a success and to bring a new color to the business palette of Zadar.

    Visit the workshop of Deša, an organization founded following the Siege of Dubrovnik to help refugees and women who were victims of violence. They have grown to be an important educational center, workshop and an advocate for women’s rights. Through its meaningful work Deša continues to act as a safe space for women to support one another, provides training opportunities and sponsors the revival of traditional crafts.

    Meet a Local Embroidery Artist in Gruda
    In the heart of the Konavle region, meet Antonia Rusković Radonić, a dedicated artist working to preserve the local silk and embroidery traditions originating in the 15th century. Learn how silkworms became popular here, the relevance of the craft in the 21st century and the efforts made to keep this heritage alive. Antonia’s work in reviving silk production and teaching old embroidery techniques helps to maintain a big part of Konvale’s culture, including the preservation of traditional folk costumes.

    Welcome to the Queen of the Adriatic, where grand waterfront palazzi and long-standing traditions echo the city’s medieval grace and glory. Transfers depart from Venice Airport at 11:00 and 13:00 to your hotel.

    As you start off your women’s-only tour, meet your Travel Director and fellow travelers at 17:30 to enjoy a delightful Welcome Dinner at a nearby restaurant.

    Day 2The Magic of La Serenissima

    On your orientation see the Byzantine basilica in St Mark’s Square, the colonnaded Doge’s Palace and the iconic Bridge of Sighs. Continue to the island of Murano and witness the ancient skill of glassblowing, now practiced by precious few masters. Join a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience as you watch artisans create delicate works of art using rare traditional practices and support the master glassblowers in preserving their art. Listen to customary Venetian songs as your gondola glides through the myriad of beautiful canals.     Day 3Through Slovenia onto Croatia

    This morning, should weather permit, cruise the tranquil waters of the bay of Mali Ston and meet Tomislav, a local oyster farmer.

    Continue along the coast and arrive to Dubrovnik and its perfectly preserved Old Town.
