    Cabo Trek

At Cabo Trek we want you to be part of our efforts to further the understanding and appreciation of the world by re-establishing our connection with mother nature. Cabo Trek works diligently toward creating a common consciousness and understanding of the oceans and we strive to make a difference in this world by interacting with it with responsibility and humanity.

And Scuba Diving or Snorkeling here in Cabo San Lucas is surely a great way to re-establish that connection: being fully immersed surrounded by hundreds of different species of marine life is an experience that certified divers enjoy each and every dive while first timers are blown away by the experience!

    • 2.5 hours
    • Season start: 15th DecSeason end: 15th Apr
    • Cabo, Mexico

Your 2,5 hour tour will begin with a trip to our famous Land’s End Arch. Here we’ll pause the boat ride for a brief moment to allow for pictures with the Arch and to explain our next destination, which is either out into the Pacific Ocean or out into the Sea of Cortez, depending on where the whales decide to play that day. While out at sea your marine biologist guide will be busy spotting whales and educating guests on the whale behavior going on around you. Your trek biologist guide will also enlist the help of professional-grade hydrophones to see if the whales are communicating or “singing” below the surface and you may be the lucky customer that gets the rare opportunity to actually hear the whale songs live!

While you’re occupied spotting whales and enjoying the educational whale watching tour our professional wildlife photographer is busy capturing all the excitement! But who is driving the boat?! No worries, our experienced captain is busy at the wheel anticipating the next prime location for optimal whale watching and most importantly, ensuring we always maintain a safe and responsible distance from the whales. After 2,5 hours where you witnessed the whale watching and educational experience of a lifetime, we’ll head back to the dock and disembark. With guests in tow, our marine biologist and wildlife photographer will lead everyone back to the Cabo Trek office and storefront. Upon return you have the opportunity to purchase photos or DVD’s from your tour and other Cabo Trek souvenirs. When you book with Cabo Trek you get guaranteed excellence, quality and attention to detail that can’t be found anywhere else!

    Meeting Point

The day of your tour you will meet in our office and storefront 15 minutes prior to the time of your tour. While in the shop we’ll process your payment or revise your reservation, allow you time to shop around our storefront for any souvenirs and read up on some of the educational activities you’ll be partaking in that day. We offer free wi-fi, cookies, water before everyone is ready to head to the dock. Then we’ll take a quick 1 minute walk from the shop to the dock. There you’ll board our boat, put on your life vests, be given a complimentary bottle of water, and finally, set out on your whale trek adventure!

    Best Time To Go

The best times fall between January and March. A few lucky customers will get the rare gift of seeing mother whales and their newborn calves! Contact us if you want to go whale watching in Cabo in early December and April: the whales are here even before and after that in that case we recommend our PRE and POST whale watching wildlife tour, a trip focused on the great variety of animals offered by the Baja California Sur region. In terms of BEST time of the day please take the following into consideration when booking a whale watching tour with Cabo Trek:

    09:00 am Tour

Usually flat Ocean, recommended for people who tend to get sea sick, families with young children and older people.

    11:00 am Tour

Nicer outside temperature, this is the perfect mix between the early morning and the afternoon tour. The ocean can be a bit choppy.

    02:00 pm Tour

The trip for the real adventurer, this is the tour where we experience the most whale activity, Ocean is mostly choppy, chances are high you will get wet.
