This tour is provided by

Taste of Toulouse

Help preserve a taste of place. By going on a Taste of Toulouse tour, you’ll also be supporting hard-working and talented local artisans and businesses that are, in turn, supporting the community and preserving the rich gastronomic heritage of SW France. I pick the locations we visit based on the quality of their products and service – not on cost – and spend generously at those businesses both on and off my tours.

  • approx. 2.5 hours
  • Saturday afternoons
  • maximum 8 people

Explore the wine regions surrounding Toulouse during this fun and intimate wine and cheese tasting.

Join me in the private tasting room of one of my favorite local wine shops for a two-hour wine and cheese tasting exclusively for your group. We’ll open bottles from local AOCs near Toulouse, pairing them with luscious, seasonal cheeses from Toulouse’s best fromagerie and bread from my favorite boulangerie.

Private group wine & cheese tasting

Saturday afternoons from 3:30-5:30pm (contact me for other potential days/times)

Price Includes

  • Guided wine tasting of at least 4 bottles of locally-made wine
  • 4 cheese pairings and bread

At least 4 bottles of wine (if you’re a large group, we’ll have more), plus 4 cheese pairings and bread. You have the option to order a small or large charcuterie platter, if you would like meat, as well (25 €/45 €). Plan on having a late dinner, as this tasting is quite filling. Leftover wine? No worries! You can take any unfinished bottles with you after the tasting.

299 € for groups of up to 4 people, then 69 € for each additional person.

  • Led by an ex-cheesemonger and certified French Wine Scholar™
  • Learn about France’s AOC system and the concept of terroir – a taste of place

  • Taste special grape varieties such as mauzac, negrette, tannat, or gros manseng that are rarely grown outside of SW France
  • Explore the factors that go into wine and cheese pairings – what works, what doesn’t, and how to do it on your own
  • Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and ask all the questions you want
  • After the tasting, you’ll receive an email with a list of the wines and cheeses that we tasted, as well as any other recommendations or resources that we discussed.

Tasting details

Tastings operate rain or shine and we’ll be indoors 100% of the time. The private tasting room is located down a flight of stairs, so is not wheelchair accessible. If you are interested in a tasting, but have accessibility issues, please contact me to see what can be arranged.

Tasting location

Exact location and detailed directions will be emailed along with your order confirmation. Situated near the city center, it is a 15 minute walk from Place du Capitole and a 5 minute walk from the Line B Metro Station Jeanne d’Arc. Due to the alcohol consumed, I do NOT recommend driving. Please plan on walking, taking public transportation, or a cab/Uber.

What to Wear or Bring

Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended. The tasting room table is standing height, so you’ll be on your feet (though, a few chairs are provided, if needed).

Dietary Restrictions/Food Allergies

The tasting is normally vegetarian (unless you order the extra charcuterie). I am happy to accommodate the follow diets with advance notice:

  • Gluten-free (NOT Celiac)
  • Pork-free charcuterie platter

Any of the above dietary requirements MUST be noted when booking to allow time to make arrangements for substitutions. I ask that those with dietary restrictions book tours at least 48 hours in advance! If you have any questions regarding dietary accommodations or would like to see if I can accommodate other restrictions or food allergies (I often can – please ask!), email me directly at [email protected] before booking.

Please review your order and the tour details carefully before booking. The following is the refund policy for private events:

  • Cancellation more than 30 calendar days before the scheduled date: penalty representing 10% of the total price;
  • Cancellation between 30 and 7 calendar days before the scheduled date: penalty representing 40% of the total price;
  • Cancellations made less than 7 calendar days before the date of the service or no-show of the Client on the day: penalty representing 50% of the total price.

I am happy to reschedule your reservation for another date (pending availability) with 48 hours notice. Any changes must be communicated in writing to [email protected]
